LAKE PLACID – Northwood school football players Liam Doyle and Sebastian Green have been named to this year’s high school All-American East Boys roster.
The two seniors will travel to Knoxville, Tennessee, to play in the All-American High-School game on December 11.
The selection of the two marks the fourth consecutive year that the school has at least one player selected for the All-American High School team. Previously, Arnezha Astwood and Alvaro Garcia Pascual were selected in 2020. Mateo Rodriguez was selected in 2019, and in 2018 Chris Athansiadis and Inaki Rodriguez were selected.
Green and Doyle, who recently announced their commitment to Stanford University, will play alongside and against a total of 43 high school football players.
Before both players make it to the All-American game, the Northwood men’s soccer team will end their season. The team are scheduled to play in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday before heading home to play on the school’s new artificial turf field for the first time on Sunday.
On Sunday there will be an exhibition game at 11 a.m. against the NY Elite Alleycats, then the team will play a USL Academy League match against FC Copa at 2 p.m. The matches are a smooth launch from the new pitch. A formal event is expected to take place next spring when it is completed.
