The West Ottawa women’s swim team dominated Zeeland on Thursday night winning 112-72.
The Panthers got off to a good start winning the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1: 53.63. Katelyn Inman of Zeeland took the win in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1: 59.75. But the Panthers got back on track immediately when Oriana O’Mealey won first place in the 200 IM by hitting the wall in 2: 17.37.
in the 50 freestyle, Makenzie Baldwin of West Ottawa finished almost a second faster than any other competitor with a time of 25.24. The Panthers continued their momentum when Kendall Vaara won the 100 butterfly in 1: 02.69. Baldwin also won first place in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.88.
Zeeland recovered some points when Inman finished another race on the top step of the podium, winning the 500 freestyle in 5: 20.16. But the Panthers came back straight away winning the 200 freestyle relay in 1: 44.58. In the 100 backstroke, Kalyna Pyk of West Ottawa was first with a time of 1: 01.31. Madi Remenschneider won the 100 breaststroke for West Ottawa in 1: 13.13.
Zeeland did, however, win one relay, the 400-yard free relay, in 4: 13.60.
Holland Christian 3, Coopersville 0
The Maroons dominated Thursday night in a big win over Coopersville.
Adam Kroeze opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with an assist from Lucas Freriks. In the second half, Kyle Cannon scored a big goal in the 76th minute and Brandon Walters completed the scoring in the 78th minute with a free kick.
Holland Christian had nine shots on goal and limited Coopersville to one.

Gavin Sligh scored halfway through the second half with an assist from Mike Galicia. Hudson Hilgert got the shutout with 5 saves. BR is now 3-2 on the year.
