Frewsburg boys take soccer victory over SC / Forestville | News, Sports, Jobs


FREWSBURG – Brendan Devereaux, Zack Carr and Lucas Eckman scored two goals apiece as Frewsburg shut out Silver Creek / Forestville 9-0 in the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association’s Central Division men’s soccer game on Thursday.

Garrett Brink, Trent Bjork and Jackie Barmatosta also scored for the Bears (4-4-0, 2-2-0). Carr added four assists and Landon Stormer had two while Eckman and Zayne Cline each had one.

The Black Knights are down to 0-6-0 on aggregate and 0-4-0 in the league.


NORTH COLLINS – Cole Holland had a hat trick in the opening 17 minutes of the game and Westfield / Brocton beat North Collins 7-0 in the Central Division.

Carson Swanson added two goals while Josh Barresi and Darien Swanson each scored one goal for the Wolverines (4-1-1, 3-0-0). Darien Swanson had three assists and BArresi had two while Donovan St. George and Mihir Patel each had one.

The Eagles are down to 2-4-0 on aggregate and 1-3-0 in the league.


RANDOLPH – Drew Hind and Cooper Freeman gave Randolph a 2-0 first-half lead and the Cardinals beat Salamanca / Cattaraugus-Little Valley 4-1 in the East Division.

Ryder Smith and Cody Slade scored after the break for the Cardinals (3-3-0, 2-2-0). Griffin Nelson collected two assists and Mathurin Griffith collected one.

Ray Fantaske scored from Christian Horn for Salamanca / Cattaraugus-Little Valley (0-7-0, 0-4-0).


JAMESTOWN – Carson D’Anthony’s Jalen Parkhurst goal in the 15th minute saw Chautauqua Lake beat Maple Grove 1-0 in the Central Division.

Freshman Brendan Klossner got the shutout with 13 saves in goal for the Thunderbirds (3-2-0, 2-1-0).

Andrew Auer made three saves for the Red Dragons (5-2-0, 3-1-0).


ALLEGANY – Zach Luce had a hat trick as Eric Spring and Jacob Marino scored two goals apiece as Allegany-Limestone shut out Dunkirk 12-0 in the West Division.

Cooper Wildzewski, Sean Conroy, Huddy Kwiatkowski, Maddox DeLong and Mason Deming also scored for the Gators (8-0-0, 4-0-0). DeLong and Conroy each had two assists while Luce, Tyler Curran, Wilczewski, Deming, Spring and Josh Graham each had one assist.

Ashton Witkowski made 18 saves for the Marauders (0-3-0, 0-3-0), who host Olean on Tuesday.

“We played with 11 and we should be at 15 by Tuesday,” Dunkirk head coach Shawn Taylor said. “We went through this roller coaster period. Our season starts on Tuesday.


OLEAN – Stephen Hoffman scored twice to lead Olean to a 5-0 West Division win over Jamestown.

Thomas Bates, Quintin Allen and Dominik Kahle also scored for the Huskies (4-4-1, 2-1-1). Al Linderman collected two assists while Allen, Hoffman and Bates each added one.

The Red Raiders are down to 0-3-0 on aggregate and 0-2-0 in the league.


SOUTH DAYTON – Falconer / Cassadaga Valley scored two goals in the second half to beat Pine Valley / Gowanda 3-2 in the East Division game.

Ian Andersen scored from Finley Pavlok and Alex Reynolds scored from Christian Wilshire after halftime for the Golden Cougars (5-3-0, 3-1-0). Their first half goal was scored by Coleson Barber of Ethyn Gilbert.

Darwin Westlund scored both goals for the Panthers (1-4-0, 1-3-0), first from Wayne Libby and then from Noah Frontuto.


PORTVILLE – Undefeated Portville defeated Ellicottville 4-1 in the East Division.

The Eagles (2-5-1, 2-2-0) came on the scoreboard first when Sam Edwards scored his 10th goal of the season.

For the Panthers (7-0-1, 4-0-0), Michael Cole, Cole Faulkner, Brady German and Bryan Randolph scored goals. Kyle Mathes and Cole each got an assist.
