The school organized videos for all the recipients which included a dance, skits, plays and just overall all the students said how much they enjoyed them all.
Bjorkdale School hosted a farewell dinner for three of its long-serving staff.
Sherry Fredsberg was the school’s receptionist/librarian for 11 years. Jordann Kovach was a high school physical education teacher for seven years, and Helen and Sherman Babcock started in 2008 as school caretakers.
The school organized videos for all the recipients which included a dance, skits, plays and just overall all the students said how much they enjoyed them all. There was also a spaghetti dinner hosted by students and staff and it was a fundraiser that raised over $3,000 for Alicia Orosz, the Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2 teacher who is currently on leave to fight breast cancer. Great job by everyone involved.
The June is Recreation and Parks Month grant was used to bring the Tisdale Day Camps climbing wall like that day and was climbed for three consecutive hours by all students and even some parents. took over. The kids loved it and it was great to have something different in town.
The Saskatchewan Cutting Horse Association will host the Tisdale Cutting Horse Show July 2-3 beginning at 9 a.m. each day at the Van Haastert Arena, Bjorkdale, SK. Cutting is a ranching sport where a team of horses and riders compete to sort out and keep a single cow out of a herd of cattle. There will be plenty of action as there are competitors ranging in age from eight to 80 years old. Open – 3 man draw teams, 2 races per entry, Youth – 2 man draw teams and each team will receive one adult to be the gate 12 man and less than 3 races per entry.
